I am thrilled to announce that I have joined the maintainers team for OpenAFS a pioneering open-source distributed file system. As a long-time enthusiast and contributor, I’m honored to bring my passion to help shape the future of OpenAFS. Thanks goes to Sine Nomine Associates for their long term support to the OpenAFS project.

For those who may not be familiar, OpenAFS is a widely-used, open-source file system that enables seamless access to shared data across networks. AFS was developed originally at CMU in the 1980s. OpenAFS is the open-source descendent of AFS and been instrumental in powering collaborative environments for various industries, from academia and research institutions to commercial organizations.

As an open-source project since 2000, OpenAFS thrives on the collective effort of contributors from diverse backgrounds and expertise. I’m excited to work alongside fellow maintainers and enthusiasts to further improve the project and foster a culture of open communication, knowledge sharing, and mentorship within the OpenAFS community.

In the coming months, I’ll be working closely with the maintainers team to focus on integrating the backlog of changes into the development branch and eventually into the stable releases. My goal is to ensure that OpenAFS continues to evolve and improve, while maintaining its stability and robustness.

I am thrilled to join the maintainers team for OpenAFS, an iconic project that embodies the spirit of innovation and collaboration. I look forward to working alongside fellow enthusiasts to drive the project’s continued growth and success.
